Placement test window: October 2026 intake
Book a 45-minute placement slot between Monday 26 and Friday 30 October 2026 and secure your cohort for the October intake.
Kendahouse, 4th Floor, Nairobi
The January intake gets placed in one week. From Monday 26 to Friday 30 October we run back-to-back placement tests on the fourth floor (written section, reading task, and a fifteen-minute conversation), so every new learner joins the cohort that matches their level rather than the one with seats left.
Who should book
Anyone starting a language programme with the January cohort: first-time applicants, returning learners who studied with us earlier this year, and professionals joining the workplace Kiswahili track. If you are unsure whether you need a test (for example, you hold a recent certificate), ask admissions and we will tell you which results we accept instead.
The window
- Monday 26 to Thursday 29 October: slots every 30 minutes from 09:00 to 17:00. Each test takes about 45 minutes.
- Friday 30 October: final slots from 09:00 to 13:00, followed by the last cohort placements of the week.
- Results: level recommendation issued within two working days, with the reasoning written out and the suggested cohort start date.
Evening slots are available on Tuesday and Thursday until 19:00 for candidates who cannot leave work during the day.
Practicalities
Arrive ten minutes early with nothing but yourself; pens are provided. Tea and water are available in the waiting area, and the conversation part runs in a separate room from the written sections, so nobody finishes early and disturbs the room.
Kendahouse, 4th Floor, Nairobi. If the week itself is impossible (travel, exams, deadlines), say so when you book; we add a small number of out-of-window appointments by arrangement.
Slots are allocated in the order bookings arrive, and the evenings fill first. Tell admissions which day and time suits you through the contact page and we will confirm your slot.
